Victim protection and victim support

You can call the victim support hotline 116006 daily between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. Here you can talk (anonymously, if you wish) about your problem and you will learn which organisations can help you with your specific needs.

WEISSER RING is a victim support organisation with 3,000 volunteers in 420 local branches throughout Germany. You can find our local contacts at www.weisser-ring.de. Our website also provides information about our national victim support organisation and our support options.

The association of professional victim support organisations can be found at www.opferhilfen.de. However, if you are in another European country and need support, you can contact the relevant victim support organization via Victim Support Europe. For an overview of organizations in your area that specialize in helping you, visit the online database for victims of crime (ODABS).

For some groups of victims, there are special victim support offers, e.g.:

The support hotline Violence against Women offers Germany-wide advice and support for women who are affected by violence. Victims, relatives, friends and professionals can call 08000 116 016 or visit www.hilfetelefon.de to receive free and anonymous advice. This service is available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. If required, the helpline will refer you to local support organisations. Interpreters in various languages (including sign-language) are available.

The support portal Sexual Abuse provides help to victims of sexual child abuse, their relatives and others who want to support them. The national database contains information on support options in your area.
